Changing a Student Name

We used to be able to edit the names of students enrolled in class. We can't do this anymore. When I click on the account info for a student, it pulls up MY name and there is no way to edit a student's name.

So if I accidentally made an account with a typo in a students name, I would have to delete them and start over. That's not a problem, but if we have students who change their names (or if I let students make up a name for themselves like instead of John Doe they want to go by Superman Sam), I can't accommodate that any more. Why did this change? And is there a workaround?
