Pathos - Ethos - Logos



My students are in the process of doing their first quest over persuasive techniques (pathos-logos-ethos) as a precursor to doing rhetorical analysis.  For the first assignment, they did a discussion in which students created a scenario that had to be answered using ethos, then respond using ethos to two different students' scenarios. Afterward,  the students found a commercial (youtube or print) and created a 3 slide presentation explaining how the commercial used either logos or pathos to be effective.  

Since my students have their own digital devices, they did the work some outside of class. I gave them one week to complete this quest.
