Common questions when getting started
You may have some questions regarding Classcraft, even before you start playing. Don’t worry, we’re here for you!
Below are some questions commonly asked by teachers before they start using Classcraft. If you have any other questions for us, please contact us on our live chat or at support@classcraft.com.
Q: Do I have to download anything to play Classcraft?
A: You don’t have to download anything. The game will run in your regular web browser. Please note that the game is optimized for Chrome, Safari, and Edge.
Q: Which platform or operating system does Classcraft work on?
A: You can play Classcraft from Chrome, Safari, or Edge web browsers on your Windows or Mac computer or mobile device. You can also access the game using a Chromebook with your Google login.
Q: Can I use Classcraft in my classroom if my students don't have individual devices?
A: Absolutely! You can handle all Classcraft operations with a single computer. If you have one, you can display Classcraft on your projector during class.
When a student wants to use a power or modify their character, they can inform you, and it can be done from the class computer. This is especially true when you start, since students don't have their own accounts.
You can also set a rule so that students can only use their powers or change their character at the beginning or end of the day to streamline use even when they have their own accounts.
Q: What other platforms is Classcraft integrated with?
A: Classcraft is fully integrated with Google Classroom. You may also log in with your Microsoft, Facebook, Apple, or ClassLink account. If your accounts are linked to Classcraft, you may upload files directly from your Google Drive or from Microsoft OneDrive.
Your school may be Clever-enabled. If so, you can use Clever to launch Classcraft and your Clever login as well.
ClassLink also may be enabled at district-level, giving your students even more opportunity to earn points.

Q: How much setup or preparation is required?
A: The initial setup will require you to select your positive behaviors and powers and enter your student names. At this point, your students have no account and you'll control everything on your own.
Check out the different tutorials in the class progression, but there's no need to rush it: discover the different tools on your own pace.
Some features like the Random Events and Quests may require more time for you to set up, but these can come at a later time if you want!
Q: On a daily basis, how much time will Classcraft take?
A: Once the initial setup is complete, using Classcraft takes about 5 minutes of management per class hour.
Q: Can I edit my settings and presets after I’m done with the initial setup?
A: You can always edit account or class settings, even after completing the introduction.
For example, you may change behavior settings that are not working as intended or ask students for ideas. You can add behaviors values while teaching, but if you make changes at any other time, be sure to let your students know!
You can learn more about customizing your class settings here.
Q: How many students and classes can I have?
A: Regardless of the version of Classcraft you're using, you can create as many classes as you need. Each class can contain up to 150 students.
Q: Can I play Classcraft for free?
A: Yes! With the Free version of Classcraft, you can set behaviors and use several awesome Classcraft features, like the Random Events and the Wheel of Destiny. There’s also a Premium version, which unlocks even more features. Finally, you can enquire with your school or district about acquiring a school license.

Q: Can I try the Premium features?
A: You can try all the different Premium features by using the demo class, accessible from your homepage.
Q: What's the difference between an individual license and a school/district license?
A: You might notice that, even as a Premium teacher, some features are not available to you. While Premium gives you access to the tools you need to run your day-to-day classes, some features make more sense in the context of a larger scale implementation.
With a free or Premium individual license, you can create, customize, and manage as many classes as you need. The school gives an overarching structure where administration and teachers give a more cohesive experience to their students.
The school license also provides deeper analytics to help leaders get a better overview of what’s happening in their school or district. These features may also include heightened security, teacher and student rostering, group settings, PD training, and personalized support.
You can find more information about the different licenses on our Pricing page.
Q: I need more help. What can I do?
A: You can find more information about the game and its different features on our Knowledge Center. You can also check out our YouTube page for a host of video tutorials.
