Accessing and setting up the demo class

The demo class is a pre-populated class with students and teams. It can help you learn to use the game features without affecting your actual classes.

In the demo class, you have access to all the Classcraft Premium features, such as the Class Tools. You can also create quests of any length, use the Student Analytics, and view the game as a student to give you a better feel for how the game will look to your class.

It’s perfect for trying things out and seeing if Premium is for you!

Accessing the demo class

Scroll down the teacher homepage until you see the demo class in your class list. Click on the "Play" button to access it.

You can always access the demo class from any of your class without returning to the dashboard. In the upper left corner of the game screen, click on your class name to see all the classes you have access to, including the Demo Class.

Setting up the demo class

When you first create your account and proceed to the demo class, you’ll need to set it up. This will enable an experience more closely tied to your needs. If you’ve used the demo class before, you can reset the demo class settings. Click on the gear icon (Class Settings) on the lefthand sidebar; then click on the green “Reset Demo Class” button in the upper right corner.

You can reset your demo class setup as often as you want to see the different settings; however, if you’ve made changes to the demo settings, you’ll see a warning above the “Load Class” button to let you know the previous customizations will disappear.

Choosing your demo class settings

To build your customized demo class, pick your school level from the drop-down menu and select one of the options (General, PBIS, or Social Emotional Learning). Then click on “Load Class.”

You can now explore the different demo class customizations, which affect Health Points, Experience Points, and Gold Pieces presets, as well as sentences and powers. If you want to use these configurations in real classes, you can import the settings into your existing classes or when creating a new class.

Viewing the game as a student

You can view the game as a student to get a better idea of how the game looks from their perspective. To do so, select any student in your demo class and click on the “View as Student” button below their name:

You can explore the different sections of the game through that student’s account or switch students by clicking on their name.

When you’re done, click on the “Back to Your Account” button in the top right corner to return to your normal view.
