Creating a class with existing class settings
One of the simplest way to go about using another class's settings is to import them directly as you're creating your class.
- Fully set up one of your classes (or even the Demo Class)
Note: If you plan on using Hearts, make sure to complete your base class's Class Progression and set up behaviors, pledges, and other settings. - On your homepage, click the Create a class (or Create custom class if you have a district or school license)
- Enter a class name and select a grade (if you have a district or school license)
- Under Class settings click Select
- Scroll down the list and find the class you want to import settings from
- Click Create my class
Once you're done, you can edit the imported settings independently from the source class to make on-the-spot, class-specific changes.
While you may import the settings of a Reactive mode class into a Proactive mode class (or vice versa), the gameplay powers are defined by the mode of the class you're creating, not their name and description in the class you're importing from.
Importing settings from another class
If you have already created a class and want to import settings from another one of your classes, it's not too late! When you import settings this way, you don't need to import all of your settings either! It's a great way to add Random Events to another class or just change the powers so they match across different classes.
- Click Play on your home page for the class you want to import settings to
- On the sidebar click the class settings gear icon
- Select Import settings
- Choose the class you want to import settings from on the list — you can even select an archived class or your Demo Class!
- Click Next
You'll then be prompted to review the settings you want to import. Here's how this looks:
1. Back
Return to the class selection.
2. Select/deselect whole category
If you don't want to import a whole category, uncheck this box. Check it again to import these settings.
Example: If you want to import only powers, uncheck Positive and Negative Behaviors, Pledges, Random Events, Game Rules, and Interface.
3. Category name and description
4. Enable or disable overwrite
You can choose to import add these settings to the ones already existing in your class by disabling this option. Enable the overwrite to delete all existing settings in a section and replace them with the ones you're importing.
5. Overwriting warning
In some cases, settings can't be added to your list. For instance, there can only be finite number of powers in Classcraft, game rules are sort of an all-or-nothing thing: you can't both need 500 and 1500 Experience Points to level up at the same time.
This symbol indicates that the settings currently existing in your class will be overwritten when you complete the import.
6. Select/deselect specific setting
In some cases, you can decide to import only a few settings from a category, or import all settings but one. A checked setting will be imported to your currently class. Uncheck a setting to indicate you don't want to import it.
Example: You could want to import all of the pledges you created for your class but one your current class does not have the material to complete. Unchecking it at this time will save you from having to delete it later on.
7. View/hide category
Click the arrow to view all of the settings included in a category. Click it again to hide the expanded view.
8. Overwriting confirmation
If you're about to import settings that will overwrite existing settings, you need to confirm this action. Check this box to confirm.
9. Import settings
When you're ready, click Import to finish importing settings in your new class.
If a category is completely empty (such as if there are no behavior settings to import), the whole category will not appear on this list.
While you may import the settings of a Reactive mode class into a Proactive mode class (or vice versa), the gameplay powers are defined by the mode of the class you're editing, not their name and description in the class you're importing from.

You can share some or all of your settings with other teachers in just a few clicks. To do so:
- Click Play for the class you want to share the settings of
- In the sidebar, click the class settings gear icon
- In the top right corner, click Share settings
- Decide which settings you want to share by checking or unchecking whole categories or specific settings (such as specific powers, behaviors, or Random Events)
- Click the Share button in the top right corner
- Choose whether you want to copy your share link or send it via Facebook, Twitter, or email.
Other teachers can then import your settings to their classes by following these steps.
